A Covid-19 Awareness Camp


A Free Vaccination Camp for Covid-19

A free vaccination camp for school students under age 18 was organized yesterday by XYZ High School in order to fight against the coronavirus. It was really a unique way to arrange the camp. It was an eight-day camp. For setting up the vaccination camp, the school authority collaborated with the District Hospital. The Covid specialist Dr. Haraprasad Nayak was invited to attend the camp. The doctor arrived at 8 a.m. with his assistance and cartons of doses. Around 9 a.m. the vaccination programme started. Some ex-students were also selected as volunteers with Covid protocol. They managed the increasing flow of the crowd by making a distance. Each student was vaccinated with covishield. The doctor also advised them to always wear masks, wash hands with soap or hand sanitizer. The local MLA Mr. Hareram Singh came to visit the camp at about 11.30 a.m. and told the students to fight against this pandemic. He also  appreciated the effort of the school and expressed his gratitude to Dr. Haraprasad Nayak and his team. The camp continued till 4 p.m.

A free health checkup camp for school students was organized yesterday by XYZ High School in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. It was really a unique way to arrange the camp. For setting up the medical camp, the school authority collaborated with the District Hospital. The Covid specialist Dr. Haraprasad Nayak was invited to attend the camp. The doctor arrived at 8 a.m. with his assistance and cartons of medicines. Around 9 a.m. the checkup programme started. Some ex-students were selected as volunteers with Covid protocol. They managed the increasing flow of the crowd by making a distance. Each student was examined properly. Free medicines along with masks and hand-sanitizers were distributed among them. The doctor also advised them to always wash hands with soap or hand sanitizer. The local MLA Mr. Hareram Singh came to visit the health camp at about 11.30 a.m. and told the students to fight against this pandemic. He also  appreciated the effort of the school and expressed his gratitude to Dr. Haraprasad Nayak and his team. The camp continued till 4 p.m. 


"Safe Drive Save Life" Programme

"Safe Drive Save Life" Programme was observed in the premises of XYZ High School on 29th October, 2021.The school premises were decorated with colourful papers, flowers and festoons. The programme started with the arrival of the chief guest, the Hon'ble S.P. of our local police station, Jamuria. Our school Headmaster Mr. Satyendranath Bandopadhyay welcomed him warmly. Asansol-Durgapur Traffic Police also attended the programme. They gave important and informative lectures to the students. The students XI and XII, bearing the placards, arranged a rally from our school ground to the Chanda NH2 Road. They informed bikers to always wear a helmet and obey the traffic rules. They also asked the bus, taxi, auto etc. drivers to wear safety belts while driving. The programme ended with the slogan 'Safe Drive Save Life' at 4 p.m.


A Farewell Ceremony

A Farewell ceremony took place in the XXZ High School on November 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the honour of our beloved English teacher, Mr Prakash Gupta. The auditorium was decorated with colourful papers, flowers and festoons. The  ceremony started with a Rabindra Sangeet sung by the students of class XII. Then the outgoing teacher was garlanded by a senior student. The Headmaster delivered a short speech on the contribution of Mr Prakash Gupta. The outward teacher also gave a heartwarming speech to the students to make the ceremony memorable. The students of class XII arranged a programme like song, dance, drama, recitation etc. At last the outgoing teacher was given a lot of gifts and packets of sweets by both the teachers and the students. However the programme ended with a heavy heart among all.


An Educational Tour

Our school conducted an educational tour for the students of class XII. It was a two-day tour. We were taken to Murshidabad for our trip. We were 45 including 10 teachers. We boarded the Shatabdi express on October 13 night and reached Sealdah the next morning. The train journey was both comfortable and enjoyable. We then had some tiffin. From Sealdah station, we got into the Hazarduari Express at 6:50 a.m. We took a cosy hotel in Murshidabad. First we visited Hazarduari, a majestic palace. It has 1000 doors. The place is nicely decorated. Then we visited Khosbag, Motijheel, Katra Mosque and other important places one after another. We came back home on October 15 morning. The trip was both educative and fun.


Teachers' Day Celebration

Like every year,  this year also Teachers' Day was celebrated with pomp and pleasure in XYZ High School on the occasion of the birth ceremony of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. The programme was observed on Sept 5, 2021. The whole building and the campus were nicely decorated with colourful flowers, papers and festoons and the picture of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. All the students in school uniforms attended the programme on time. All the teachers along with the headmaster were present there. At first the portrait of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was garlanded by the Headmaster. Then he delivered a short speech on the contribution of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan to the field of education. Then a host of events like songs, recitation, dance, drama etc. was presented by some students. The audience gave them a huge round of applause for their excellent performance. At last all the students offered a packet of sweets and some gifts to the teachers in order to honour them.The Teachers also gave them blessings. The Programme ended with a Rabindra Sangeet at 3 p.m.


Celebration of Rabindra Jayanti

Like every year, this year also Rabindra Jayanti was celebrated in XYZ High School on 9th May, 2021.The school auditorium was decorated with colourful papers, flowers and festoons. The students came in school uniforms on time. Parents and grandparents were also invited to join in the programme. It started with the arrival of the chief guest, Mr. Hareram Singh, the local MLA. Our school Headmaster Mr. Satyendranath Bandopadhyay welcomed him warmly. The portrait of Rabindranath Tagore was garlanded by the chief guest. The Headmaster delivered a speech on Rabindranath's contribution to World Literature.  A host of events like songs, recitation, dance, drama etc. was presented by some senior students. The audience gave them a huge round of applause for their excellent performance. At last sweets biscuits were distributed among the students. The show ended with a Rabindra Sangeet at 4 p.m.


Blood Donation Camp

The Eco-club of XYZ High School organised a Blood Donation Camp in the school auditorium on 15th August in order to celebrate Independence Day. A medical team from District Hospital, Asansol conducted the camp. The programme started at 11 a.m. The headmaster of the school opened the camp by donating blood himself. The teachers and students of class XII donated blood in this camp. Later the collected blood was sent to ABC blood bank for helping patients who are in need of blood during a medical emergency. The donors were medically tested before the final selection. However there was great enthusiasm among the students. The donors were provided with a light refreshment after the blood donation and given a citation for their cooperation. 


Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony

Every year on December 28, our school organises the annual prize distribution ceremony. This year also the day was observed with pomp and grandeur. The school premises were decorated with colourful papers, flowers and festoons. The programme started with the prayer song sung by students of class XII. Students were called upon the stage one by one to receive their prizes from the hands of the chief guest Mr. Hareram Singh, the local MLA. Later, the Headmaster delivered an impressive speech on the point of how to be a successful man. At last a host of events like songs, recitation, dance, drama etc. was presented by some students. The audience gave them a huge round of applause for their excellent performance. The show ended with a Rabindra Sangeet at 4 p.m.


Magic Show

A grand Magic Show was arranged in the hallroom of  XYZ High School at 12 pm. on 29th October, 2021. The show started at 11 a.m. and it continued up to 3 p.m. Though it was a 4 hour-programme, we did not feel bored even for a single minute. An experienced magician, wearing a curious odd dress, showed some tricks which are really unbelievable. He first took some coins and suddenly vanished them in the air. After a minute or so he produced those coins from one of the students’ pockets. The magician surprisingly lifted up a person in the air without any support. In the air he was walking like an astronaut. All the spectators became speechless when they saw the magician pierce a man with a big sword. All the time the magician kept the boisterous students spellbound with his tricks. There were more items such as a balance show, juggling ball, tricks with cards, fire. The spectators burst out into loud cheers after each item. After the end of the show, we came home joyfully..


A Science Exhibition

A Science Exhibition was organized in XYZ High School on 29th October, 2021. Six schools participated in the exhibition. All the participating schools reached the spot by 9 a.m. and arranged their stalls by 10am. The exhibition hours were from 11 in the morning to 5 in the evening. The exhibition showed innovative working models and experiment based projects. Some of the students made a model of a DC motor, solar system, self driving cars, image recognition devices etc. The participants  were busy making other participants understand how they function. Everyone was spellbound to see each one's work. At last every participant  got a participation certificate. Visiting the stalls was a learning experience for me and I was really impressed by the novel ideas.


Annual Sports Day

Annual sports day was observed in the playground of XYZ High School on 29th October, 2021. The school playground was decorated with colourful papers, flowers and festoons. All the students came to the field in school uniforms. The programme started with the arrival of the chief guest, Mr. Hareram Singh, the local MLA. Our school Headmaster Mr. Satyendranath Bandopadhyay welcomed him warmly. All the teachers were present there. The event started at 9:30 in the morning with a relay race. Many new records were made in long jump, high jump, 100 metres and 200 metres race. At the end of the programme the chief guest gave away the awards to the winners. The programme ended at 4 p.m. with a smile on everyone's face.


A Cleaning Operation

A cleaning operation was organised in XYZ High School in order to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October, 2021. This was to make the students conscious about the necessity and benefits of cleanliness in the school and the surroundings. Fifty students from different classes took part in the drive. Five teachers led and guided them. They cleaned all the classrooms and the premises with brooms, buckets and bleaching powder. They worked for more than four hours. The teachers also told them about the benefits of cleanliness. At last, a drama on how the Earth can make green was staged by some senior students. The audience gave a huge round of applause for their excellent performance. The programme ended with a beautiful smile on everyone's faces as they felt proud to do something positive with their own hands for  the society.


World Environment Day

Like every year, this year also World Environment Day was celebrated in the compound of  XYZ High School on the 5th of June, 2021. At first 376 saplings were brought to school from the Municipal authority. Almost 300 students including the Headmaster and some teachers joined this programme enthusiastically. The celebration started with planting of a sapling by our Headmaster, Satyendranath Bandyopadhyay,  followed by a speech about how all of us promise to make the Earth green. Then the students planted the saplings under the guidance of the teachers. After the plantation, a host of events like songs, recitation, dance, etc. was presented by some students. At last a drama named 'Mother India' was staged by some senior students. The audience gave them a huge round of applause for their excellent performance and to make them realise the benefits of having the Earth Green. The programme ended with a Rabindra Sangeet.
